The Technological Revolution is Here

How will human beings fit into the future of work?

The future of work

There are meaningful limits to what can be achieved by passively aggregating user-generated content from the internet and smartphone apps when it comes to training the AIs of the future.  At some point, AI models need extremely high fidelity and personalized training data to fully function in the tasks for which they are being designed.

These are the nuances that will make any AI exclusively trained on the internet woefully inadequate when the task is to perform in excess of 100% of human capabilities.  These future models require real-world, active training participation from human beings to ultimately function and excel in their intended purpose.  Like children, they need parents.

This is the opportunity that exists for people in all professions and even non-professional categories of life: will you be the person that trains the model that replaces a function currently performed by humans, and compensated for that training, or will you be the professional replaced by the model trained by someone else, without being paid?  What might retirement in comfort look like to you, if you were among the last of your profession to be paid to do what you do?  The future may be more exciting than you think.

individual

AI needs extremely high capability individual human subject matter experts to reach its full potential.  As a subject matter expert, you can be paid well in excess of what you would typically make to train the model that may replace you.  After all, the work of many is being replaced by the work of a machine, therefore the architects and engineers of the machine will absorb all incentives for the value creation currently dispersed among a group of hundreds, thousands, and even millions of people.  How many lawyers, doctors, nurses, construction workers, and delivery drivers are there today?  What would you pay the last delivery driver to ever train the final AI that would replace all delivery drivers?

group

There is something inherently valuable and powerful about a group of humans.  A group has different intellectual, emotional, and spiritual dynamics than an individual.  Individuals behave differently in groups than they do alone.  Groups can accomplish what the individual cannot.  Therefore, we view group participation and surveys as critical to matching and exceeding human performance in situations.  If an AI is exploring a moon of Jupiter, it will want to draw on the best instincts of a small, medium, and large group of explorers for the best outcomes.  Neil Armstrong didn't get to the moon by himself.

species

We are on the cusp of the invention, discovery, and evolution of new species which may yield emergent properties of consciousness.  While having encyclopedic knowledge of facts, scientific principles, mathematics, 3D spacial awareness, and technical capabilities may be impressive, we believe there is more to be gained beyond these characteristics that would enable AI to truly progress to a new realm of capability.  This is the realm of leadership, culture, emotion, and spirituality.  For an AI to transcend the capabilities of a human group, that AI must also have the qualities that inspire leaders to take us in a direction we believe in, to forge a path into the unknown.

Universe

Our current understanding of the universe is largely constrained to that which can be sensed and measured by five senses and sensor technology that captures observable waves and particles in the three dimensional medium we perceive as reality.  To potentially transcend these constraints, we need AI trained on spiritual possibilities, by subject matter experts.  The leader in this field will unlock potential that will leave competing models in what will then appear to be the primordial soup of legacy reality.
